BULLETIN INFORMATION August 1, 2010
What we do on Sunday in worship is the climax of the other six days: we give ourselves to God in love and awe. As you approach God this morning ask yourself: is your life a single-hearted love offering to God? God does not allow us to enter His presence with idols in our hearts.
We extend a warm welcome to those who are visiting with us today. We are glad to have you join us in praise of our Lord and Savior. You are welcome to join us in any of our Bible Studies. Coffee is available in the fellowship hall after our morning service.
WORSHIP NOTES
Today Rev. Johnson will be leading our worship services as Pastor Donovan is preaching in the Prinsburg URC. Next week Sunday, Lord willing, Rev. Wesseling will lead our morning worship service and Rev. Williamson will lead our evening worship service.
PRAYER REQUEST
Please remember Evan Christoffels, son of Roy and Karen as he is serving our country in Iraq.
We thank the Lord that Aaron Hoftyzer was able to return to his home in Ashton. He continues with therapy and anticipates, Lord willing, to start work on a part-time basis in the near future.
LOGOS will be meeting this week in Kentucky, Lord willing. Please remember the speakers and those attending in prayer as they travel and participate in this conference.
THANK YOU
The Girls and Boys Club members would like to thank the many people who supported our car wash last Friday. It was a beautiful day, it was a fun afternoon, and it was a great success with nearly $900 raised for the purchase of a new Pinewood Derby track. Thank you all so much!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Netherlands often referred to as Holland, is located in northwest Europe. It is bordered by the North Sea to the north and west, Belgium to the south and Germany to the east. Although it has a glorious history as a Christian nation, the present day secular society has turned its back on its past. There are few restrictions on drugs, deviant life styles, prostitution, homosexuality and abortion. It is the first country to legalize euthanasia and has become a world leader in promoting new age values. Pray for a new generation of leaders with a passion for God’s glory and a re-commitment to the Scripture. Pray for a revival that restores this nation spiritually.
Pastor Donovan and his family will be leaving for vacation on August 2 for 3 weeks. May God bless them with safety and renew them with strength so that they may return to serve God at Cornerstone. If you have any needs that arise, please contract your elder.
In response to her request, a statement of membership for Rachel Van Maanen has been sent to the First CRC of Sioux Falls, SD. We pray for the Lord’s leading in her life that she may continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The new church committee list is in your mailboxes today. Please look these over to see if your name is on the correct committee. Contact Lance Van Beek if there are any errors. Thank you to everyone who served on committees in the past and also to those who agreed to serve on committees for the coming year. Your willingness to serve and use your God given talents in this way is greatly appreciated.
The Fellowship groups of Anthony Minderhoud and Junior Postma will be in charge of the Prairie View Chapel today, at 2:00 PM. Grant Diekevers will be the speaker.
